Mental Health Clinician | Registered Nurse, Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Occupational Therapist – Mental Health or Social Worker | Permanent Part-time Monday to Saturday | Tresillian Nepean
Join to apply for the Mental Health Clinician role at NSW Health. Role location: Tresillian Nepean. Employment status: Permanent Part-time, Monday to Saturday with a shared roster including occasional Saturday shifts. The vacancy is three days per week: Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
Responsibilities
- Provide culturally appropriate, comprehensive and wholistic mental health care to parent–infant/child dyads and triads receiving Tresillian parenting services.
- Conduct clinical assessment, formulate and treat perinatal and infant mental health concerns with a focus on parent–infant and family functioning; apply trauma‑informed care principles.
- Undertake risk assessments and develop safety plans for situations involving self/child harm, child protection concerns, or domestic violence.
- Facilitate group programs to support parent–infant/child functioning, secure attachment and positive mental health.
- Engage in multidisciplinary collaboration, formal and informal consultation, evaluation and planning for service delivery and staff support.
- Perform case management within the Parent, Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Team and collaborate with Tresillian clinicians to help families achieve goals.
Selection Criteria and Qualifications
- Qualifications in accordance with relevant award conditions; eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) or the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Psychologists and Clinical Psychologists: AHPRA registration; clinical psychologists endorsed in Clinical Psychology or enrolled in an approved registrar program toward endorsement.
- Social Worker: eligible for AASW membership and Mental Health Accreditation (not currently required but eligible).
- Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in perinatal mental health practice with demonstrated experience in:
- Assessment and management of perinatal mental illness (e.g., postnatal depression and anxiety); individual, family and group therapies.
- Attachment‑based practice with parent–infant dyads/triads; infant mental health assessment and management.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team; advanced reasoning and independent professional judgement for complex cases.
- Excellent time management and documentation skills; proficient in Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, PDFs and client database systems.
- Commitment to reflective practice, positive interpersonal skills and conflict management.
- Must be available Tuesday and Friday.

Other Requirements
This position requires a Working with Children Check (WWCC) and verification of immunisation status in line with NSW Health policy. Criminal record and child protection checks are conducted for all successful candidates.
