About the role:

We're looking for a skilled Senior Management Accountant to take on a critical role in supporting business initiatives and decisions and leading financial reporting insights. Your expertise will help shape the future of our retail business while working in a collaborative, fast paced and high-performance environment.
Reporting to the Retail Finance Manager, you will work closely with senior stakeholders across both the retail and generation businesses. You will prepare and deliver accurate financial reporting as well as conducting thorough analysis which will help tell a story that your stakeholders will come to value and trust.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Prepare and deliver insightful management and financial reporting to support key business stakeholders across both Red Energy and Snowy Hydro
* Conduct in-depth gross margin and cost trend analysis across different business areas
* Monitor and ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial information
* Provide financial guidance and insights through effective partnership with the business
* Provide financial expertise in support of business initiatives and objectives that drive performance and efficiency
* Develop the capability of direct reports to achieve targets and deliver exceptional customer experience
* Assist stakeholders in understanding financial projections and outcomes
* Maintain the month end accounting and general ledger to a high degree of accuracy and reliability.
To be considered for this role you must have:
* Tertiary Qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CA/CPA accreditation is essential)
* A customer-focused approach with excellent communication skills
* Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and adaptability.
* Previous experience in a similar role, experience in within the energy sector will be highly regarded
* Sound understanding of corporate governance, taxation matters and compliance with financial policies and regulatory requirements
