Disability Support Worker | SIL, Day Program & Community Access | Illawarra
About the Role
Invigorate Ability is seeking a Disability Support Worker to join our growing team in the Illawarra region. This role involves providing supports across Supported Independent Living (SIL), Day Programs, and Community Access / Community Participation.
You will support NDIS participants to build independence, engage in meaningful activities, and achieve their individual goals in both 1:1 and group-based settings. This is a varied and rewarding role with ongoing opportunities to develop your skills.
This position is part-time, with casual opportunities available for strong applicants. Travel within the Illawarra region is required. Afternoon and weekend availability is desirable but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide person-centred disability support in SIL homes, day programs, and the community
* Support participants with daily living, personal care, and community access
* Assist with group-based activities in a structured Day Program environment
* Encourage independence, skill-building, and social participation
* Follow Behaviour Support Plans and risk assessments where applicable
* Complete accurate shift notes and documentation in line with NDIS requirements
* Work collaboratively with team leaders, coordinators, and allied health professionals
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
* Certificate III or IV in Disability / Individual Support / Community Services (or currently studying)
* Experience working as a Disability Support Worker, preferably in SIL, Day Programs, or Community Access
* A reliable, proactive, and professional approach to support work
* Strong communication and documentation skills
* A valid Driver's Licence and access to a reliable vehicle
* NDIS Worker Screening Check, First Aid & CPR (or willingness to obtain)
