POSITION DESCRIPTION

Due to continued growth, Sandfire is seeking an experienced Business Development Analyst to join its high-performing team of professionals. Reporting to the Head of Business Development, this role will be central to delivering Sandfire's growth strategy and supporting its ambition to become a globally significant copper producer.

The position will play a critical role in the evaluation, valuation and shaping of inorganic growth opportunities globally, with a strong focus on financial modelling, economic analysis and investment decision support.

This role is suited to a high-calibre, experienced professional with exceptional financial modelling capability and sound commercial judgement, able to integrate technical, jurisdictional, ESG and strategic considerations into clear, decision-grade recommendations for Executive Management and the Board.

The Business Development Analyst also carries leadership accountability through ownership of critical analyses, influence over capital allocation decisions, and contribution to the analytical, modelling and prioritisation standards of the Business Development function.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

Include, but are not limited to:

* Build, own and maintain best-in-class financial models, including project-level DCF and cash flow models, scenario, sensitivity and downside risk analysis; earn-ins, staged investments and option structures; and M&A and combination models incorporating integrated cash flow to equity, sources and uses, and pro-forma capital structure impacts.
* Rapidly translate geological, mining and metallurgical inputs into robust economic and equity-level outputs.
* Stress-test assumptions and clearly articulate value drivers, breakpoints and risk asymmetry at both project and shareholder value levels.
* Support the evaluation of M&A, joint ventures, farm-ins, royalties and divestments.
* Integrate technical, jurisdictional, ESG and funding considerations into holistic investment cases.
* Prepare concise, Board-ready materials that clearly frame proceed versus close-out decisions and equity value outcomes.
* Provide intellectually honest recommendations under ambiguity and time pressure.
* Contribute to deal structuring, valuation negotiations and funding analysis (ECM / DCM).
* Assess funding structures and mixes and their impact on leverage, dilution and cash flow to equity.
* Support portfolio-level analysis to inform capital allocation decisions.
* Contribute to Sandfire's global market mapping and opportunity screening activities, filtering and ranking opportunities
* Monitor global copper markets, peer transactions and valuation benchmarks.
* Contribute to district- and province-scale opportunity assessments aligned with Sandfire's long-term growth strategy.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

* Tertiary qualifications in finance, engineering, business administration, and/or progress toward a CFA, MBA or MAF.
* Proven experience supporting or leading complex transaction evaluations and due diligence processes across acquisitions, joint ventures and other structured investments.
* Preferably a mining industry professional or related advisory background, with direct experience in a business development function and a minimum of 7 years' relevant experience.
* Proven expertise in developing and maintaining financial models with exceptional rigour and discipline, including integrated cash flow to equity and M&A combination models
* Experience across business development, transaction evaluation and due diligence activities.
* Strong financial acumen with a solid understanding of financial statements and investor-focused financial metrics and ratios.
