About the role
Centre Trailer Hire and Parts' is seeking an experienced Trailer Mechanic to join our team in Alice Springs, NT. This is a full-time position where you will be responsible for the maintenance of our hire trailers as well as servicing and maintaining customer trailers. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and safety of all trailers, which is essential to our business operations.
What you'll be doing
1. Inspect, diagnose, and repair various types of trailers and caravans.
2. Conduct routine maintenance on trailers, such as wheel alignments, brake adjustments, and replacement of worn or damaged components.
3. Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues to keep our trailers running smoothly.
4. Maintain detailed records of all repairs and maintenance performed.
5. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to protect yourself and others.
What we're looking for
1. Minimum 2 years of experience as a Trailer Mechanic or similar role in the automotive industry
2. Preferable minimum 1 year experience in welding.
3. Strong knowledge of trailer mechanics, including brakes, suspensions, and electrical systems
4. Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills to identify and resolve complex issues
5. Proficient in the use of tools and equipment required for trailer maintenance and repair
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
7. Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to safety
8. A valid driver's licence and the ability to operate a forklift would be highly regarded
9. Good use of initiative
10. Someone who is punctual
