Within our Brand, Marketing and Communications division sits our Public Relations team. The Public Relations team supports the Bank by taking ownership of the Bank's reputation through the media and in setting and delivering messaging for other externally facing communications channels. We have an exciting permanent, full-time opportunity for a Public Relations Manager to join our high-performing team. In this role, you will be immersed in a complex, issues-rich environment, giving you the chance to sink your teeth into meaningful work that makes a real impact.
You will work across both proactive media management and support issues management across our business. We're looking for someone with a natural "nose for news" who can develop positive, compelling stories and has a demonstrated track record in pitching to media and placing stories.
You are a passionate and driven public relations professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You are a storyteller at heart and are adept at building relationships with journalists and internal stakeholders alike. While banking or finance or corporate experience is highly advantageous, it is not a requirement.
This isn't just another PR job. This is a chance to become a specialist in the finance industry and elevate your career. You will be joining an experienced and supportive national team that is committed to nurturing and developing your skills. We will share our knowledge and empower you to grow and succeed. At Bendigo Bank, we are committed to being Australia's better big bank, and you'll play a key role in telling our story.
This role can be based in Adelaide, Bendigo, Melbourne, or Sydney locations. We offer flexible work options that put our people first, working in a hybrid model with a minimum local Head Office attendance requirement determined by your Leader, to find a rhythm that works best for you and your team. We believe that coming into the office some of the time is the best way to learn, stay connected and collaborate effectively, especially for key activities like team days, 1:1s, and town halls.
What you'll bring to the role
* Demonstrated experience in a corporate public relations role, ready to tackle a complex operating environment.
* A proven ability to find and pitch positive, proactive media stories that align with our brand with strong skills in the media pitching process from start to finish.
* Competence in both media management and navigating and responding to complex issues.
* An agile and nimble approach, with the ability to pivot quickly in a dynamic environment.
