You will play a crucial role in the management of patients undergoing cardiothoracic procedures and will assist in providing high-quality care within the cardiothoracic surgical unit. You will be involved in the pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care of patients, as well as in the education and training of junior medical staff and nursing teams. This position offers an exceptional opportunity for professional development in the cardiothoracic field.Your Duties Will IncludeConducting thorough assessments and examinations of patients with cardiothoracic conditionsParticipating in the formulation and implementation of individual patient management plans.Assisting in and perform cardiothoracic surgical procedures under the supervision of consultant surgeons.Providing pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care to patients in the cardiothoracic surgical unit.Monitoring patients’ recovery and manage complications post-surgery with appropriate interventions.Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including nursing staff, anaesthetists, and allied health professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.Communicating effectively with patients and their families regarding treatment options, procedures, risks, and post-operative careParticipating in departmental meetings, case reviews, and quality improvement initiatives, oversee ANZCTS database.Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of patient care in compliance with hospital policies.Skills And ExperienceCurrent registration with AHPRA as a medical practitionerMinimum of 4 years post graduate clinical experiencePrevious experience in cardiothoracic surgery or related specialties is desirable.Clinical experience in managing complex patients with cardiovascular diseases.What’s in it for you?Professional Advancement: Recognition, Rewards, Professional Development, and Employee referral programs.
