Liability Underwriter – Zurich Insurance
Join Zurich Australia as a Liability Underwriter and be part of our journey to become Australia's leading digital insurer. In this role you'll play a pivotal part within our newly established Authorised Representative (AR) division, supporting and growing AR networks across Australia while driving business development and unlocking new opportunities for Zurich and its partners.
Responsibilities
* Underwrite and analyse renewal business within delegated authority levels, support new business opportunities, and contribute to sales and retention targets.
* Collaborate with Authorised Representatives and internal teams to deliver tailored solutions and support Zurich's value proposition.
* Leverage data insights and underwriting tools to inform pricing, coverage decisions, and risk assessments.
* Maintain strong broker and client relationships to support retention, acquisition, and cross‑sell opportunities.
* Monitor and manage portfolio performance, identifying trends and opportunities to improve profitability and risk selection.
* Embrace Zurich's digital platforms to drive underwriting efficiency and enhance customer engagement.
Qualifications
* Experience in liability underwriting with a strong track record of sound decision‑making and technical excellence.
* Proficiency in risk assessment, exposure analysis, pricing, and use of underwriting tools and frameworks.
* Strong working knowledge of general insurance underwriting, relevant industry regulations, and market trends.
* Excellent relationship management, sales, and negotiation skills with a customer‑centric approach.
* Analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail and commitment to underwriting discipline.
* Continuous learning mindset and ability to adapt to evolving practices and digital transformation within the industry.
