About the facility Major sites include University Hospital Geelong, the McKellar Centre precinct, Barwon Health North, and residential aged care facilities across the region, with programs across the Barwon South West Region including Torquay and Colac.Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol Services provide integrated, recovery-oriented mental health, drugs and alcohol assessment, treatment and community support for people of all ages and their families.The Community - Acute Intervention Service operates 7 days a week with two shifts and is a tertiary level multidisciplinary team.
The team will Undertake assessments rated CAT B or CAT C for ages 12-65Provide brief tertiary mental health intervention for up to 28 days for acute phase cases not engaged with other servicesProvide ED post-follow up calls for consumers who have left ED and are not referred to other tertiary services About You Registered Psychiatric Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker or Clinical PsychologistExperience in acute mental health and AOD assessment and treatmentDemonstrated advanced clinical skills in assessment and treatment of acute mental health and substance use in a community setting About the role We are seeking highly motivated senior clinicians to provide acute community assessment and treatment for people in the acute phase of their mental illness and/or AOD use.
