As Chief Finance Officer, you will report to the executive leadership of a government infrastructure agency, advising the Director-General, Deputy Director-General and senior stakeholders on budget planning, financial reporting, compliance and performance. You will lead a skilled finance team, oversee statutory obligations under the Financial Management Act, and guide financial decision-making across the division.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver strategic financial advice to executive and ministerial levels
* Lead the directorate's budget planning, internal controls and financial performance
* Oversee reporting, forecasting, cashflow and cost allocations
* Ensure compliance with government policy, legislation and probity requirements
* Represent the organisation in whole-of-government financial forums
* Manage improvement initiatives across systems and processes
* Build and lead a high-performing finance team with clear vision and accountability
You Will Bring
* CPA, CA or CIMA qualification (mandatory)
* Extensive senior-level finance leadership in public sector or delivery organisations
* Strong command of financial governance, government processes and risk frameworks
* Ability to deliver strategic insights from financial data
* Collaborative leadership style, with credibility across executive and stakeholder groups
* High ethical standards and commitment to transparent public service
