Primary objective
Provide high level advice and support on workforce management matters through a client-focussed enterprise model to Northern
Territory Public Sector agencies to assist them with management of their human resources in particular case management.
Context statement
Workforce Services are delivered to client agencies under a centralised services model across a geographically and culturally diverse
environment. The Workforce Management teams provide support across a range of areas including, Performance, Disputes,
Conduct, and General HR Support. This position sits within Workforce Management, providing advice in inability, workplace
disputes, performance and conduct matters adopting an evidence-based approach.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide Workforce Management advice and guidance to clients on a range of matters in areas of conduct, complaints, inability
and performance management.
2. Undertake case management workloads such as disputes, discipline, investigations and inability, recommending appropriate
courses of action for resolution and early intervention strategies which are consistent with relevant legislation.
3. Develop and maintain effective partnerships with clients, human resource providers and other stakeholders.
4. Mediate, negotiate and undertake facilitated discussions regarding matters such as employee complaints, conduct or
performance issues with a view to reaching agreeable outcomes for all stakeholders or recommending remedial action.
5. Prepare submissions and reports to agencies delegates as required.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Experience and contemporary knowledge of operational HR management including experience managing case management
matters in areas such as conduct, complaints, inability and performance management.
2. High level communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills with the ability to establish collaborative relationships at all
levels to positively influence human resource practices.
3. Demonstrated planning, problem solving and organisational skills, including the effective management of multiple high priority
case management matters to meet conflicting deadlines.
4. Well-developed conceptual and analytical skills including the ability to interpret and apply legislation.
5. Sound written skills and the ability to research and analyse information for preparing a range of correspondence/documents.
6. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD values of commitment to service, innovation, ethical practise,
accountability, impartiality, diversity and respect.
Desirable
1. Relevant qualifications in human resources or a related field.
2. Knowledge and understanding of employment legislation as it relates to Northern Territory Government employees or ability
to obtain.

Manage a team of Workforce Management professionals delivering client-focussed advice to NT Public Sector agencies on the
management of employee performance matters.
Context statement
Workforce Services (Human Resources) are delivered to client agencies under a centralised services model across a geographically
and culturally diverse environment. The Manager Workforce Management manages a team of staff delivering advice services to
support case management activities and effectively resolve workplace issues across a range of areas including injury management,
performance, conduct, and dispute resolution.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide high level Workforce Management advice, guidance and coaching to clients on a range of workforce matters.
2. Manage and provide advice on complex workplace issues such as disputes/grievances, discipline, investigations and inability,
recommending appropriate courses of action for resolution and early intervention strategies.
3. Responsible for managing a small team, ensuring expertise is provided in a timely manner to clients.
4. Develop and maintain effective partnerships with clients, human resource providers and other stakeholders to ensure
successful delivery of business objectives.
5. Undertake analysis of agency people matters and HR data to inform and develop effective solutions.
6. Collaborate in the development of contemporary HR management strategies, policies, procedures and internal documentation
aligned to corporate objectives, legislation and public sector initiatives.
