Role Overview The Manufacturing Engineer – Welding Automation is a key technical role focused on driving excellence in welding and automation processes across ARB's manufacturing operations.
You will lead initiatives in robotic welding, automated inspection systems, and smart manufacturing technologies, alongside process design, optimisation, and efficiency improvements.
This includes leveraging continuous improvement methodologies and managing CAPEX projects to deliver advanced automation solutions.
In addition to supporting current products where welding processes apply, you will play a critical role in standardising welding practices and documentation globally and influencing upstream design engineering to ensure manufacturability and quality.
This is a multi-faceted position that combines technical expertise with project and stakeholder management, including data analysis and financial evaluation.
Working with minimal supervision, you will exercise sound engineering judgment and initiative to deliver high-quality outcomes, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.

About You: Trade qualification in Boiler Making, Fitting Turning, or Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication.
AS**** Welding Certificates; international welding qualifications desirable.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (preferred).
Minimum 5 years' experience in manufacturing, industrial, or design engineering within automotive or similar industries.
Hands-on experience with lean manufacturing principles.
Experience in product and process design for metal fabrication and welded assemblies.
Experience with automation, including robotic welding and inspection.
Proven experience with tooling, fixturing, and jigging for welded assemblies.
