The successful candidate will lead an experienced engineering team to deliver innovative solutions for community wellbeing, while fostering opportunities for continuous professional growth.
Key responsibilities include:
* Fostering positive relationships with executive management, team members, and stakeholders.
* Developing strategic business plans and infrastructure strategies.
* Providing technical expertise and support for engineering projects and asset management.
* Developing and managing various asset management plans, including roads, drainage, bridges, and major engineering structures.
* Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and relevant legislation.
Essential Selection Criteria
The ideal candidate will possess:
* Strategic thinking and decision-making ability.
* Collaboration and relationship-building skills.
* Leadership experience with a proven track record.
* Understanding of corporate governance and workplace relations.
* Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
* Previous management experience in a similar role.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and technical aspects of civil engineering.
* At least 10 years' experience in civil engineering.
Desirable Criteria
Preferably, the candidate will have:
* Postgraduate qualification in Business Management, or relevant discipline.
* Experience in transport planning, traffic engineering, and/or stormwater management.
* Proficiency in hydraulic and hydrological modelling software.
* Previous experience in senior roles within local government.
