Building Industry Training Pty Ltd (BIT) is a top 10 registered training organisation (RTO #40785) in Australia and is building its presence across Queensland and Northern NSW from its Gold Coast Headquarters. With offices in Arundel, Toowong and Livingstone Shire, BIT is expanding its full-time and part-time trainer workforce to deliver better on-site training for its students and their employers. BIT is seeking multiple trainers in multiple trades including Carpentry & Painting and Decorating.

Full time trainers are supplied with an attractive salary package including super and a vehicle for work use.

To perform the role, trainers will:

· Work with apprentices/trainees to assist in improving their skills and knowledge;

· Tutoring apprentices from a range of practical and theoretical projects;

· Visit students on site and/or conduct group training at our facilities depending on student needs;

· Maintain the currency of their qualifications and assist in the review and adaptation of existing training materials to maintain their relevance and currency;

· Be responsible for completing site visits, document training activities and assessments;

· Act as a mentor by providing practical training and support to students on a range of topics based on your trade qualification;

· Facilitate and assist in the development of new training and assessment resources; and

· Performing RPL assessments.

We allocate trainers based on location but travel to worksites is a necessary part of the role and full time are trainers are supplied with work vehicles as part of the remuneration package.

Trainers may use any of our offices to meet, complete their paperwork but there is a requirement to visit the Gold Coast headquarters at least once a month to meet with the Training Manager and/or team leaders.

Role Requirements

We place a significant emphasis on trade knowledge, communication skills, teamwork and the ability to work independently, follow compliance procedures and be proactive in engaging within and outside of the business.

To become part of our growing team, applicants need to have the following:-

· Hold a current qualification in Carpentry or Painting and Decorating

· Hold or be prepared to immediately obtain a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

· Hold current industry skills and experience in the relevant trade.

· Hold a current White Card

· Be able to obtain a Blue Card or currently hold a Blue Card

· A current Driver's licence

· Experience with Microsoft Office products and computers

· Excellent verbal and communication skills.

· Demonstrate mathematical and written skills as required to meet the requirements of your trade.

· Australian Citizenship or Permanent Resident Visa

· Pass a National Police Check

· Be physically able to conduct the activities required of an on-site trainer and assessor in the relevant trade.

· A confident, calm and patient nature with an outgoing personality

· Strong interpersonal skills and a team player who will maintain our reputation in delivering quality training.

Applicants with the following attributes would be highly regarded:-

· Previous experience as a trainer and assessor.

· Multiple trade qualifications or the ability to obtain multiple trade qualifications through recognition of prior learning;

· Advance qualifications in the construction sector such as a Certificate IV in Building and Construction.

· Current industry QBCC licence.

· Previous team or site leadership experience
