- Salary - $149,739 pa–$173,174 pa plus employers' contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
Your role
Are you ready to lead cyber defence in one of NSW's most impactful government departments? This is a unique opportunity to shape and strengthen the Department of Communities and Justice's (DCJ) cyber security posture. You'll lead incident response and security operations, collaborating with internal teams and external partners to protect critical digital assets and drive strategic improvements.
What you'll do
As part of the Cyber Risk, Audit and Compliance team, you'll help protect DCJ from cyber threats in a hands-on, fast-paced role. You'll work in a supportive and high-performing team, focused on keeping our digital systems safe and secure. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring, detecting, and responding to cyber threats across the organisation
- Managing incident response and overseeing day-to-day security operations
- Working closely with Managed Security Services Providers to strengthen cyber defence
- Supporting cyber awareness initiatives and collaborating with Red Team and Threat Intelligence teams
What we're looking for
We're looking for a skilled cyber security expert to join our team of dedicated, passionate specialists who thrives in fast-paced environments, brings a sharp eye for detail and values knowledge sharing and collaboration. You'll need:
- Hands-on experience in cyber operations, incident response, and forensics
- A strong ability to lead investigations and manage cyber threats
- Excellent communication skills to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience, with a passion for continuous learning
