Laser Tracker Toolmaker Job Description
As a Laser Tracker Toolmaker, you will play a critical role in the success of our Starship program. You will be part of an elite team that builds and improves mechanical systems and tooling operations at our manufacturing and launch facilities.
You will work closely with engineers, fabricators, and other teams to design, develop, and implement tools and equipment used in the production process. Your expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) will enable you to interpret blueprints and ensure accurate measurements and calculations.
You will also be responsible for collecting geometric data using laser trackers through model-based software such as Verisurf. This involves establishing reference systems, applying them to parts, and analyzing collected data to provide direction for remaining tooling operations.
In addition to your technical skills, you will need to effectively communicate with team members and stakeholders to ensure seamless collaboration and project success.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
* 3+ years of professional experience working with laser trackers
* 6+ months of experience with Verisurf
