About the Role

Tronox is seeking a detail-oriented and coordination-focused Senior Engineering Design Coordinator to manage the integration of multidisciplinary design deliverables across both the Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) and Execution phases of a major Rare Earths project in Western Australia.

This hybrid role combines design coordination with hands-on drafting and documentation support. You will work closely with the Engineering Manager, discipline leads, and the Engineering Service Provider (ESP) to ensure that design outputs are cohesive, constructible, and aligned with project standards and execution strategies.

This position reports to the Engineering Manager and plays a key role in ensuring design maturity, quality, and readiness for construction and commissioning.

Initially offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract for the DFS phase, this role is designed to become permanent once the project achieves FID and moves into Execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Design Coordination & Oversight

* Establish and take ownership of the multi‐disciplinary 3D model, including its setup, configuration, model structure, and coordination processes to ensure a consistent and controlled design environment
* Lead the development and integration of CAD design inputs across engineering disciplines including civil, structural, mechanical, piping, and EC&I
* Ensure design outputs are consistent, clash-free, and aligned with project standards and execution milestones
* Coordinate design interfaces between disciplines and external stakeholders
* Support constructability reviews and safety-in-design workshops
* Manage coordination and delivery of As-Built documentation, ensuring accuracy and traceability

Drafting & Documentation

* Produce and revise technical drawings and models using CAD tools
* Maintain drawing registers, manage revisions, and ensure compliance with document control procedures
* Oversee design documentation workflows including reviews, approvals, and transmittals

Execution Support

* Provide design support during construction and commissioning phases
* Assist in resolving field queries and ensuring design intent is maintained
* Contribute to early works planning and readiness documentation

Governance & Reporting

* Implement quality assurance processes and manage design changes
* Track design progress against project schedules and report status to the Engineering Manager
* Deliver clear, coordinated updates to support project reviews and stakeholder engagement
* Support final documentation handover for commissioning and operations

About you:

To be successful with your application you will bring

* Extensive experience in design coordination and drafting for major industrial or resource projects
* Strong capability in CAD tools and multidisciplinary design integration
* Proven ability to manage technical interfaces and coordinate across disciplines
* Understanding of constructability, safety-in-design, As-Built documentation, and document control processes
* Experience working with (or for) Engineering Service Providers and managing external deliverables
* Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills
* A proactive mindset focused on quality, consistency, and continuous improvement
* A diploma or degree in engineering, design, or a related discipline is preferable
