The successful candidate will join a team who work with State Departments of Education, educational leaders, teachers, pre-service teachers, and school students in research partnerships and engagements that support initial teacher education and the ongoing improvement of curriculum, pedagogy and policy in schools.
You will develop a new key leadership role in the area of pedagogy at UNE and nationally.
Your specific responsibilities include leading initiatives in pedagogy across UNE and / or locally / nationally.About youFor Level B candidates, you will have enrolled in a doctorate and progressed a significant way towards the successful completion.For Level C candidates, you will have a doctoral qualification in a discipline or topic relevant to pedagogy.Both Level B and C will have a formal teaching qualification alongside demonstrated school teaching experience in this field, as well as previous demonstrated leadership in a school setting.Both Level B and C will embody values and behaviours, demonstrating collegiality, capability to communicate with a range of stakeholders, and a commitment to excellence in teaching, research and service.Both Level B and C will need to demonstrate a high degree of insight in a broad range of pedagogical theories and the contemporary Learning and Teaching issues faced by schools.Level C candidates will have a track record of publications in a related education field.Experience in supervising higher degree research candidates, and mentoring and support early career academics is expected for Level C candidates only.About the FacultyThe Faculty of Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences and Education (HASSE) achieves excellence through focusing on quality in all that we do, offering an environment where staff are safe, welcomed, and respected; valued through self-development, participation and engagement.
