About us:
Red Feather Inn is a historic convict-built sandstone buildings, built in 1842. It features modern suites with views of the serene garden. It is located in Hadspen in the beautiful Meander Valley, approximately a 15-minute drive to the centre of Launceston. The Inn and associated cottages accommodate up to 35 people and is the departure point for the Tasmanian Walking Company's (TWC's) Bay of Fires and Cradle Mountain Hut walks.
About the role:
This is a fixed-term part-time position, beginning early October 2025 and concluding Mid-April 2026.
As a Cook, you will support the Chef in delivering high-quality meals that set the tone for each guest's journey with the Tasmanian Walking Company. From preparing dishes aligned with our set menus to maintaining a clean and organised kitchen, your role ensures every meal is crafted with care and consistency.
Your key responsibilities will include but not limited to:
* Prepare and cook meals in accordance with recipes and set menus
* Supervise and coordinate food service, providing direction during busy periods
* Prepare and serve food accommodating special dietary requirements and intolerances
* Monitor stock levels and manage re-supplies, including monthly stock takes and ordering
* Adhere to proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures, maintaining HACCP logs and ensuring appropriate dating, labelling, and rotation of food item
