Come and be part of a landmark transformation of our Financial Crime Risk (FCR) function. As we build a best‐in‐class financial crime second line of accountability, this is a unique opportunity to provide critical oversight, strategic direction, and effective challenge, to detect, deter and disrupt all types of financial crime and help protect our bank, our customers, and our communities. We are currently recruiting multiple driven and experienced leaders to join this enhanced function.

In these pivotal leadership roles: Senior Managers, Heads of and Deputy MRLO, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of financial crime risk management at Bendigo Bank. You will help develop and embed a proactive, intelligence‐led risk management framework that enables the bank to achieve its goals safely and soundly.

As a leader in our Financial Crime Risk Department, you'll make an impact by:

* Developing and implementing the strategic direction for financial crime risk management.
* Providing expert advice and effective challenge to the first line of accountability to uplift our overall financial crime risk management maturity.
* Leading, mentoring, and inspiring a team of dedicated risk professionals.
* Driving a culture of continuous improvement and proactive risk identification.
About the Role

The Head of Financial Crime Transformation (FCT) reports to Chief Compliance & Financial Crime Officer (and MLRO).

* to protect BEN from regulatory, reputational and financial risks by building, maintaining robust and ever‐evolving financial crime risk transformation programs and frameworks.
* senior strategic leadership role responsible for designing, delivering, and overseeing large‐scale, multi‐year, or complex financial crime change initiatives.
* focuses on uplifting the maturity of the Bank's financial crime programs.
* FCT subject matter expert relating to all categories of financial crime – identify, understand and interpret all applicable financial crime requirements and obligations (e.g. legislative, regulator expectations, international guidance) as well as international and domestic best practices in financial crime mitigation.
* ensure that all initiatives within the consolidated program are compliant.
* Lead, mentor, and empower a team of dedicated risk professionals, driving a high‐performance culture to deliver on a landmark, multi‐year financial crime transformation roadmap.
What you'll bring to the role
* Expert knowledge and demonstrated understanding of financial crime risk management (2nd Line) and the risk environment within financial services.
* Expert implementation and maintenance of financial crime transformation frameworks, content and systems.
* Highly effective engagement and leadership skills with ability to aggressively lead and drive change at all levels.
* Extensive experience in organisation resilience and business continuity and expert in guiding and overseeing financial crime risk in change.
* Capable and confident to engage, influence and collaborate with Senior Leaders to build trusted relationships, contributing to performance outcomes and value realisation.
* Tertiary qualifications in relevant field are essential.
Highly desirable
* Post‐graduate studies in Risk or Law·
* Professional qualifications are highly desirable e.g. ACAMS, CFA, AFCS

Location: Melbourne, Bendigo, Adelaide, Sydney, or Brisbane with flexible hybrid options.

Permanent full‐time position.
