Platform Design & Delivery Specialist – MPA

About the Role
The Platform Design & Delivery Specialist is responsible for supporting the design, governance, and delivery of SAP-based solutions within the Modern ERP – specifically within Manage Physical Assets (MPA).
Leveraging your expertise in SAP Materials Management (MM), particularly in Inventory Management (IM) and Warehouse Management (WM), you will work closely with internal platform teams. Also working with business stakeholders and external system integrators, this role ensures that functional solutions are fit for purpose, aligned to agreed business processes and meet Rio Tinto's standards, architecture and operating model. This role contributes to successful delivery outcomes by providing functional leadership, design assurance, and coordination across inventory and warehouse management processes.
Responsibilities include:
* Lead and contribute to the functional design and assurance of SAP S/4HANA solutions across Inventory Management (IM) and Warehouse Management (WM)
* Review, validate, and provide guidance on functional designs and SAP configuration delivered by external system integrators
* Translate business requirements into clear, practical functional outcomes that support operational and asset management needs
* Ensure solutions comply with enterprise architecture standards, governance frameworks, and business processes
* Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve processes, solution design, and ways of working
* Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including:
* Inventory managers and warehouse users
* Product owners and internal platform teams
* SAP inventory and supply chain specialists
* Third‑party systems integrators and delivery partners
* Support end‑to‑end delivery activities, including:
* Requirements clarification and functional input
* Review of functional specifications
* System Integration Testing (SIT)
* User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and business readiness
About You
* Strong background in SAP Materials Management; S/4HANA experience is highly desirable
* Deep understanding of Inventory Management (IM) and Warehouse Management (WM) processes.
* Experience in SAP consulting or large enterprise delivery environments
* Experience reviewing or working with functional designs, functional specifications, system integration testing
* Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, particularly with operational and warehouse end users, technical and functional delivery teams
