Aircraft Maintenance Assistant
Location: Richmond, NSW
About The Role
As a member of the Aircraft Maintenance team at RAAF Base Richmond, you will be responsible for executing tasks assigned by Aircraft Team Leads and AMEs on aircraft or components.
In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting our Aircraft Surface Finishers. You will work within your competency levels to ensure maintenance targets are met and may be assigned to various Airbus projects supporting the C-130J aircraft across the facility.
Your Day-to-day Duties Will Include
Surface Finishing Support: Assisting with specific aircraft painting tasks and surface preparation.
Aircraft Care: Performing aircraft washing and cleaning to high standards.
Logistics & Safety: Managing hazardous waste and chemical storage.
Physical Tasks: Manual handling and working at heights as required.
General Support: Providing other facility support functions to ensure smooth operations.
About You
We are looking for a team player with a technical background who is eager to support aviation maintenance and finishing operations.
Preferred Skills & Experience
Qualification: Certificate II Aeroskills or equivalent aviation trade support experience.
Technical Aptitude: Strong hand skills and experience working with tools in a maintenance environment.
Industry Knowledge: Exposure to the Aviation industry or technical experience from an allied industry.
Safety Mindset: Experience working within regulated environments and complying with WHS policies.
Adaptability: Ability to learn quickly and apply new skills to support different maintenance specialities.
Growth Mindset: A strong willingness to learn and grow within the role, with the ability to quickly apply new skills and training as you progress.
