UI/UX Developer - React + Material UI | B2B SaaS | North Sydney | Hybrid | Up to $140K + Super
We're looking for a frontend developer who understands good design, clean code, and how to turn real requirements into sharp, usable interfaces. If you've worked on UI upgrades, design systems, or modernised frontend stacks - this will feel familiar.
You'd be joining a product team working on a growing B2B SaaS platform in the compliance and onboarding space. The role is focused on improving and expanding the product's user interface - from early UX thinking and storyboards, through to clean, high-quality builds that perform well across devices.
This isn't just "make it pretty" work - it's product engineering. You'll collaborate with stakeholders, service delivery, and backend engineers to build interfaces that serve actual user needs.
What the work looks like
* Designing and building clean, high-quality UIs using React, Material UI, and TypeScript
* Migrating and upgrading older UI components and patterns to newer versions of React and MUI
* Refactoring legacy frontend code to make it cleaner, faster, and easier to work with
* Creating and maintaining components aligned with refreshed brand guidelines
* Working from storyboards and UX flows through to final build and deployment
* Collaborating closely with backend engineers and product teams to ensure seamless integration
* Helping shape and document the design system and frontend component library
* Participating in agile planning, reviews, and retrospectives
What you'll need
* 3-5 years of experience in UI/UX design and frontend development
* Experience upgrading or migrating React + Material UI codebases
* A solid eye for layout, interaction, accessibility, and responsive design
* Familiarity with tools for wireframing, prototyping, and basic UX research
* Comfortable working with REST APIs, Git, and modern build pipelines
* Bonus: knowledge of Redux or similar state management libraries
What matters most
* You care about user experience and how it's built
* You're comfortable working from sketchy requirements and figuring it out with stakeholders
* You're good at simplifying messy frontend code and making it maintainable
* You can see how design and development fit together and help bridge the gap
* You know when to suggest a cleaner UI pattern and when to just ship the fix
The basics
* Based in North Sydney
* Hybrid role - some office time required (especially early on)
* Up to $140K + Super, depending on experience
* Applicants must be Sydney-based and available to attend the office
If you're a frontend developer with a good eye for UX and an interest in building better interfaces - not just faster ones - this might suit you well. No flash, no fluff - just useful, well-built software that's ready for your input.
