In addition to these responsibilities, the candidate will also be required to operate a forklift, maintain accurate stock levels, and ensure workplace safety standards are met.
* Key Requirements:
* Current forklift license (LF class minimum)
* Current MR license (favorable)
* Proven warehousing and materials handling experience
* Minimum 6-12 months of warehousing and materials handling experience
* Strong customer service skills with ability to communicate with diverse clientele
* Basic understanding of POS systems & computer knowledge
* Basic understanding of building materials and construction processes
* Physical fitness for manual handling and warehouse duties
* Australian work rights required for this position
* Highly regarded: Experience in building materials, trade supplies, or construction industry
* Knowledge of plasterboard, insulation, steel framing, or cladding products
* Previous retail or trade counter experience
* Understanding of Australian building standards and compliance requirements
Additional Responsibilities:
Assisting customers with product selection and technical advice, processing orders and invoicing, coordinating delivery schedules, and providing quotes and product specifications.
Supporting next-day delivery service across Regional Victoria, assisting with stock takes and warehouse organization, coordinating with suppliers for daily restocking, and maintaining showroom presentation and product displays.
