The Impact You'll Make
As our Cook, you’ll be more than just the person behind the meals—you’ll be a vital part of our children’s daily experience. Your menus will fuel their play, learning, and development, and your care in catering to diverse dietary needs will help every child feel safe, included, and valued.
What You'll Do
* Plan and prepare nutritious, seasonal menus in line with the Australian Dietary Guidelines for children.
* Cater for a variety of dietary requirements, including allergies, intolerances, and cultural preferences.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen that meets all food safety and hygiene regulations.
* Order and manage stock to ensure fresh, high-quality ingredients are always on hand.
* Collaborate with educators to align menus with learning themes and special events.
* Build positive relationships with children, greeting them warmly and making mealtimes a joyful part of their day.
What You'll Bring
* Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience in a similar role.
* Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
* Experience preparing meals for children in a childcare, school, or similar setting.
* Knowledge of nutrition for early childhood and safe food handling practices.
* A warm, caring nature and a genuine passion for supporting children’s wellbeing.
* Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and up-to-date vaccinations as per QLD regulations.
