Senior Electrical Primary Design Engineer Add expected salary to your profile for insights Zenviron have a permanent position available for an experienced Senior Electrical Primary Design Engineer to join the engineering team based in the Newcastle Office. Reporting to the Electrical Team Leader, you will be responsible for providing quality, safe, and commercially effective engineering designs for large scale Wind Farms and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. If you are skilled in high voltage (HV) primary system design and want to be a part of key growth across the renewables sector, come and join the inclusive and high performing Zenviron team. Key responsibilities will include: Performing concept and detailed primary design for large scale HV infrastructure projects, including developing and reviewing single-line diagrams, substation arrangements, cable reticulation design, load flow and fault studies, insulation coordination, transient analysis, earthing and lightning protection design Preparing and evaluating technical specifications for electrical equipment, including co ordinating with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring designs and documentation meet the relevant standards AS/IEC Providing technical leadership and support to the engineering and project teams, including engineering investigations, site inspections, solving problems and making recommendations What we are looking for: Proven experience in 66kV-330kV substation design and/or utility grid connections, including strong working knowledge of Australian Standards (e.g. AS 2067, AS/NZS 3000, AS 1768, ENA Guidelines) and a thorough attention to detail Proficient in using software modelling tools (e.g. CYMCAP, PowerFactory, PSCAD, CDEGS, PowerCad) Excellent written and verbal communication skills and good ability to collaborate and develop team capabilities Australian recognised Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) or equivalent Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status with Engineers Australia (or be eligible to obtain on commencement) Proof of right to work in Australia To be successful in this role you will require well-developed interpersonal skills to enable you to build effective stakeholder relationships both internally and externally, whilst you demonstrate a team orientated approach to work and commitment to continuous improvement.
