About the Role
The role is ideal for someone who thrives on initiative, ownership, and building strong foundations following a successful transition. Gladstone Aquatic Centre is a multi‐use aquatic facility supporting a diverse and engaged community. The venue includes an outdoor 50m 8‐lane pool, an indoor heated 25m 5‐lane pool, and family‐friendly tots and splash pad zero‐depth water areas. The Centre delivers learn‐to‐swim programs, aquatic memberships, and works closely with contract partners including Council, swim clubs, physiotherapy and health care services, as well as managing group and sessional bookings.
As the manager of Gladstone Aquatic Centre, you will be fully accountable for the Centre's operational, financial and program deliverables. You will develop and execute plans through engagement with the venue's leadership team, key stakeholders and our local Council. With experience in sales, financial and risk management, you will drive both the venue's overall success.
Key Accountabilities
* Ensure the safety and well‐being of visitors and employees through effective planning and oversight of policies, processes and procedures.
* Coach and develop leaders to deliver on KPIs through engagement, performance planning and individual development plans.
* Lead and drive a high‐performance community‐mindful culture through highly visible and hands‐on leadership and team engagement.
* Achieve budgeted performance targets.
* Maintain a high‐value relationship with the local Council.
* Recruit energetic and passionate employees as required to complement the team and the venue's vision.
* Maintain facilities to approved standards in line with contract requirements.

You will be an up‐and‐coming leader, who drives with vision and energy. You are passionate about leisure, wanting to join a growing organisation. You will be able to share insights into how you have successfully shaped high‐performance teams into business actions. You can easily articulate the link between employee engagement and exceptional business performance.
Essential Skills And Qualifications
* A minimum 2 years' experience in managing similar‐sized dynamic teams
* Sound knowledge of health and safety legislation
* Experience in planning and execution of operational, financial and people plans to successful outcomes
* Willing to obtain CPR & First Aid Certificate, National Police Check, Working with Children Check
* Legal working rights in Australia
