The Role
Oroton is seeking a highly skilled Lead Designer - Outlet Accessories to lead the creative direction and product development across our Outlet Accessories categories.
You will oversee the full design lifecycle from initial seasonal concepting and key looks through to P1 tech packs, sample development, and final collection presentations.
In this role you will work closely with our Creative Director and Head of Design - Accessories and lead the Outlet Design team.
This role partners closely with the Design, Production and Merchandising teams to deliver balanced, on-brand, and commercially successful ranges.
This is a permanent, full-time position based in our Sydney Head Office in Chippendale.
Key Responsibilities
Lead seasonal concept development, key looks, and range planning.
Design all Outlet Accessories categories, ensuring brand alignment and margin targets.
Guide and support the Design Assistant; manage timelines and workflow.
Partner with Production through P1 – P2 sample development, costings, and approvals.
Oversee material, leather, hardware, and trim development.
Collaborate on jewellery and sunglasses categories with the Senior Jewellery Designer.
Present final designs to senior leadership and manage cross-functional communication.
Maintain strong supplier and factory relationships.
Support annual creative budget planning and monitor design spend.
What we are looking for
Tertiary qualification in Fashion, Design, or related field.
At least 5 years of experience as a Senior Designer in a design-led brand, with a key focus on accessories design and development.
Strong technical knowledge of handbags, leather goods, and accessories construction.
High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and strong sketching skills.
Proven ability to build profitable, commercially aligned ranges.
Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Experience working to strict margins and fast-paced timelines.
Understanding of Southern Hemisphere markets; international experience advantageous.
Proven experience leading and mentoring a team of Designers and Product Developers.
