Description

The Regional STaR Business Line Lead for APAC leads and grows our business across the Asia–Pacific region, unlocking the significant market opportunities emerging as sustainability expectations accelerate. The APAC region is entering a period of rapid regulatory and market-driven demand - particularly in Australia, Singapore and the Philippines - where new sustainability reporting requirements (including ASRS and ISSB-aligned disclosures) are creating a surge in client need for sustainability reporting, data readiness, and strategy and transformation support. The Regional Lead will steer the team through this period of expansion: shaping regional strategy, driving commercial performance, strengthening client relationships, and building a high-performing, collaborative team aligned with our global standards and propositions. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring commercial acumen, deep understanding of the APAC region and a strong client network, and the ability to coordinate across teams in different markets. This role is based in the APAC region and reports to the Global Business Line Lead for Strategy, Transformation and Reporting, who is based in the UK.



Key Responsibilities


Regional Strategy & Market Growth
* Develop and execute the STaR APAC strategy with a strong focus on high-growth markets, especially Australia, Singapore and the Philippines, where regulatory changes are accelerating demand for ESG and sustainability reporting services.
* Identify and prioritise new market opportunities created by emerging regulatory frameworks (e.g., ASRS, ISSB-driven requirements, national disclosure mandates).
* Shape regional go-to-market plans in collaboration with global proposition leads.
* Represent APAC in global strategy forums, ensuring APAC perspectives shape global planning.
* Partnering with the Marketing team (regional and global) to develop best in class thought leadership, alongside networking and relationship building opportunities.

Collaborative leadership
* Grow capacity and capabilities within your region, including effective use of Regional Delivery Centres and adoption of digital technology (MERO) and AI to improve client delivery, project profitability and contribution margin.
* Collaborate with other Regional STaR BL leads and other Leads in your region to deliver the group strategy and meet the global budget. This includes helping plug resourcing holes and budget gaps by sharing staff, expertise and client base and as well as best practice learnings and sense of united Anthesis identity.

Growth & Commercial Performance
* Own regional budget and deliver annual financial targets across revenue, margin, and growth.
* Drive growth across Strategy, Transformation, and Reporting services, with particular emphasis on expanding reporting and readiness services tied to regulatory timelines.
* Achieve an annual personal business development target of £1m+, and role model growth mindset and behaviours to the wider team, as well as working with the other senior leaders to proactively seeking opportunities for cross service selling
* Providing strategic leadership and oversight to key STaR clients, with the expectation that you'll spend about 20% of your time working with clients.
* Build strategic relationships with industry bodies and market influencers across the region to enhance positioning and insight.

Team Leadership & Performance
* Lead and inspire the APAC STaR team, building a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability and brilliant client service.
* Manage and mentor leaders in the APAC region to ensure coordinated and effective regional leadership.
* Oversee team utilisation, quality of work, and resource planning as the region scales.
* Attract, retain, and develop top talent across key markets, ensuring progression pathways and development opportunities and creating a pipeline for future talent.

Quality, Global Alignment & Proposition Integration
* Work closely with Global Heads of Strategy, Transformation, and Reporting to localise global propositions for APAC client needs, with particular emphasis on reporting standards and regulatory readiness.
* Ensure consistent application of global methodologies and quality standards in all APAC delivery.
* Advocate for the needs and nuances of the APAC market in global proposition development.



Skills, Knowledge & Expertise


About you
* 15+ years sustainability consulting experience, with significant exposure to APAC markets and regulatory drivers.
* Proven regional leadership experience with commercial accountability and a track record of growing a professional services business.
* Deep understanding of sustainability strategy and reporting trends, including ASRS, ISSB, and emerging APAC disclosure frameworks, and value creation methodologies.
* Strong client and industry network and ability to build trust with senior client stakeholders.
* Collaborative, adaptive leader with experience in global organisations.
* Ability to balance long-term strategic direction with near-term delivery demands.
