Ocius Technology is an Australian company dedicated to developing and deploying cutting edge Uncrewed Surface Vehicles (USVs). Our vessel's harness wind, solar and wave power to remain at sea collecting vital data for Defence and Civilian applications.
We are under contracts with RAN, RNZN and USA and are responding in an agile way to an ambitious program of building and deploying multiple USVs for operations around Australia and beyond.
About the Role
Mechanical Engineers drive the development of our Bluebottle platform by building new parts and systems that survive months at sea.
The Engineering function is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the design of Ocius assets, particularly the Bluebottle platform, while actively responding to operational and production requirements to ensure continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
* Using CAD software to develop parts and systems for the Bluebottle
* Working with the production team to optimise product development
* Collaborating with other Engineers to build new systems
Selection Criteria / Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or an equivalent discipline
* Strong CAD skills in one of Fusion, SolidWorks or CREO
* Strong mechanical design skills in a volume production environment
* Ability to produce technical documentation with minimal guidance
* Experience with standard workshop tools and safety procedures
Due to the nature of our business, we require Australian Citizenship for all roles and the ability to obtain and maintain an NV1 security clearance and be compliant with ITAR regulations.
