Multi-Franchise Dealership Workshop Controller Opportunity - Cairns
Are you an experienced automotive professional ready to take on the next challenge in your career? Our client is an award-winning dealership with over 30 years of service in Cairns, who are now seeking a Workshop Controller to lead our dynamic team of 11 technicians and 3 apprentices.
About the Role:
As the Workshop Controller, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing this busy workshop facility. You'll ensure that the workload is distributed with efficiency and productivity along with high-quality repairs as the main KPI drivers. All while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the workflow of repairs and servicing in the workshop.
* Assist the team to meet workshop budgets and performance targets.
* Ensure the "Fix it Right the First Time" standard is maintained for maximum customer satisfaction.
* Assist in mentoring apprentices through the OEM Apprentice Program.
* Facilitate open communication between technicians and service advisors.
* Provide support in explaining repairs to customers when needed.
* Track and resolve vehicle carryovers and reworks, maintaining workshop productivity.

* Competitive Remuneration: Above Award wages of $89000/yr + monthly incentives based on KPI achievement + Super.
* (Expected OTE (On Target Earnings) $ $110000 per year)
* $5000 Sign on Bonus on the completion of the probation period.

Qualifications and Experience:
To be successful in this role, you must possess:
* Current driver's licence.
* Strong commitment to safe work practices.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work across all levels.
* Ability to meet tight repair schedules and follow dealership procedures.
* Prior experience as a Foreman or Senior Technician in a franchised dealership is highly regarded.
* Cert III or higher qualification as a Light Vehicle Mechanic (highly regarded)
* Comprehensive mechanical knowledge and familiarity with Health & Safety regulations.
* Strong organizational and computer skills, with knowledge of warranty processes.
