SAG Workforce is seeking experienced Formworkers, Steelfixers, and Concreters to support major bridge joint installation and remediation works across key infrastructure projects in South East Queensland.
This role is ideal for tradespeople with experience in bridge deck works, expansion joints, and structural concrete, looking to work on technically driven projects involving polymer nosing systems, strip seal joints, and bridge deck preparation methodologies.
You will be working with established civil contractors delivering critical bridge upgrades, joint replacements, and structural remediation works in line with industry installation standards
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out bridge joint preparation works, including:
o Saw cutting and removal of asphalt to expose bridge deck rebates
o Jackhammering and cleaning of expansion joint gaps
* Assist with rebate preparation and finishing, including:
o Scabbling, grinding, and surface preparation for bonding systems
* Install and support polymer nosing systems (PNSXTM):
o Mixing and placing resin-based materials
o Trowelling to correct levels and profiles with road surfaces
* Work on strip seal and expansion joint installations, including:
o Placement of aluminium rails and anchor systems
o Installation of backing rods, sealants, and water seal glands
* Perform formwork and steelfixing for bridge deck modifications and joint systems
* Assist with concrete placement, vibration, finishing, and curing around joint systems
* Maintain strict compliance with bridge methodology, tolerances, and QA requirements
* Work safely in live road or controlled traffic environments
What You'll Bring
* Proven experience in civil construction, bridge works, or concrete remediation
* Exposure to bridge joint systems, expansion joints, or structural concrete works (highly regarded)
* Ability to read and interpret drawings, joint layouts, and installation specifications
* Strong understanding of:
* Surface preparation and bonding requirements
* Concrete placement and finishing standards
* Tickets & Requirements:
o White Card (essential)
o Working at Heights / Confined Space (advantageous)
o Machine tickets (excavator, roller, etc.) – beneficial
* Strong focus on safety, quality, and detail-driven work
