We are seeking an experienced Program Management Office (PMO) Lead to design, establish and run a new, best-practice PMO within their ICT Portfolio Delivery function. This is a key leadership role supporting the digital ambition and major transformation initiatives.

The purpose of the role

Reporting to the Senior Director, you will lead the creation of central PMO capability, building the governance, processes, assurance and reporting practices that enable effective delivery of both program-based transformation projects and BAU operational initiatives.

Key responsibilities

As the PMO Lead, you will be responsible for:

Establishing and leading PMO

* Partner with the Program Director to design and establish the Program Management Office as a central, best-practice function.
* Lead the ongoing management and continuous improvement of PMO tools, templates and reporting frameworks.

Program and project governance, reporting and assurance

* Implement consistent, measurable methods for oversight, health checks and performance reporting across programs and projects.
* Provide regular reporting and respond to ad hoc status requests for senior leaders and executive stakeholders.
* Deliver internal program assurance and support external audit and assurance activities, ensuring strong transparency and accountability.

Supporting delivery success across a major portfolio

* Support the Program Director with planning, scheduling, estimation and resource management.
* Coach and mentor project managers in best practice project delivery disciplines including planning, scheduling and reporting.
* Maintain strong change control and documentation management practices, ensuring program artefacts and knowledge assets remain current.

Risk, issues, financial and stakeholder management

* Identify, assess and manage cross-program risks and issues.
* Provide financial oversight and support budget tracking in partnership with relevant finance teams.
* Enable effective stakeholder engagement and communications, partnering with change and strategy leads where required.

Skills and experience required

To be successful, you will bring strong PMO leadership capability and demonstrated experience delivering governance and reporting uplift in complex digital environments, including:

Essential experience and capability

* Demonstrated experience building or maturing a PMO function, including development of processes, templates and toolsets.
* Strong knowledge of PMO governance, program delivery reporting, and assurance practices, including working with PMO platforms/tools.
* Practical experience supporting ICT and digital delivery programs, including tracking delivery status, risks, dependencies and financials.
* Working knowledge and hands-on application of recognised methodologies such as P3O, MSP, PRINCE2 (or similar).
* Strong understanding of risk management and reporting frameworks, principles and practices.

Qualifications

* Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or certifications such as P3O, MSP and/or PRINCE2 are highly desirable.
