Broome Regional Aboriginal Medical Service (BRAMS) is a well-established Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation that has been supporting the Broome community for over 40 years. Headquartered in Broome, Western Australia, BRAMS provides holistic, culturally safe primary healthcare, aged care, and community programs for Aboriginal people throughout the Kimberley region.
With a strong focus on person‐centred, trauma‐informed, and culturally responsive care, BRAMS delivers services designed around the needs of Aboriginal individuals and families. Their multidisciplinary teams work collaboratively to improve health outcomes and promote wellbeing across the lifespan.

BRAMS is recruiting full‐time Social Workers based in Broome, WA, across both aged care and disability (NDIS) programs. In this role you will be supported to work where you can make the greatest impact, whether that's supporting older people through life transitions or working alongside individuals with disability to build independence and community connection.
As part of a multidisciplinary team you will deliver holistic, person‐centred care that supports individuals, families, and community across all stages of life.
This is a relationship‐driven role, where success comes from building trust, listening deeply, and working alongside people to ensure they are empowered to make their own choices in a way that respects their culture, values, and lived experience.
Responsibilities
* Delivers person‐centred social work services across aged care and/or NDIS programmes.
* Conducts psychosocial assessments to understand social, emotional, and functional needs.
* Develops care plans and support plans in partnership with individuals, families, and carers.
* Provides counselling and emotional support around grief, loss, mental health, ageing, and disability.
* Supports individuals to build capacity, independence, and participation in community life.
* Facilitates group programmes and individual sessions that strengthen wellbeing and connection.
* Supports individuals and families through important life transitions with care and sensitivity.
* Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams and community partners to deliver integrated support.
* Maintains accurate documentation and case notes in line with programme requirements.
Is This You?
To succeed you will hold a Degree in Social Work (or equivalent) and be or be eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). You will also have a demonstrated background working in aged care, disability, mental health, or community services, with a strong foundation in person‐centred and culturally safe practice.
Highly valued additional skills and experience:
* Experience providing counselling and psychosocial support across complex life situations.
* Understanding of the aged care system and/or NDIS frameworks.
* Experience supporting individuals and families through grief, loss, disability, or life transitions.
* Ability to develop and implement person‐centred care and support plans.
* Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
* Experience in remote, regional, or Aboriginal community settings (highly regarded).
Applicants must hold a current Australian driver's licence and be willing to obtain or have a Working With Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check, and National Police Clearance.
