About the Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the company's financial reporting and compliance obligations.
This role is responsible for managing cash flow forecasting, overseeing daily treasury operations, and delivering month-end financial accounts with insightful variance analysis for management and the board.
Partner with stakeholders across the business to deliver accurate financial information, identify process improvements, and support strategic decision-making.
What your day will look like
* Build and maintain rolling cash-flow forecasts, oversee daily liquidity, banking and payment runs, and support treasury decisions.
* Deliver accurate, timely month-end accounts and a concise commentary/variance analysis pack for management and the board.
* Complete monthly balance-sheet reconciliations and resolve variances quickly.
* Prepare and post month-end journals (prepayments, accruals, provisions, depreciation) in line with accounting policies.
* Reconcile intercompany accounts and loans, ensuring eliminations and settlements are well controlled.
* Prepare and/or support BAS, PAYG withholding, FBT and superannuation obligations, working with external advisors where needed.
* Maintain the fixed-asset register, manage additions/disposals, and coordinate capex submissions, approvals and tracking.
* Consolidate and distribute recurring financial and operational reports; assist with ad-hoc analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
Skillset needed
* Proficient with mid-tier ERP systems
* Advanced Excel skills (lookups, pivots; Power Query/Power BI a plus).
* Strong technical accounting skills, including month-end close, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
* Advanced cash flow forecasting, treasury, and liquidity management capability.
* Solid knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, tax obligations (BAS, PAYG, FBT, superannuation), and compliance.
* Commitment to continuous learning and CA/CPA professional development.
Qualifications and requirements
* 5+ years in a similar financial accounting role
* Experience in multi-entity or project-based environments highly regarded
* Tertiary degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
* CA/CPA qualified or working towards
* Unrestricted Australian working rights (sponsorship not available)
* Must be able to work in Cardup office – Monday to Friday
