Aps5 Site Technology Officer Helpdesk Role


Job Description:

Australian Citizens residing in Australia only should apply.

Citizenship requirements: Australian Citizens with the ability to obtain Baseline clearance are eligible to apply. Brisbane is a preferred location, but Melbourne (Richmond) and Geelong roles are also available.

* Contract duration: 12 months with possible extensions of up to 12 months.
* Responsibilities:

As an onsite liaison, you will work closely with senior technical staff, vendors, and end users to ensure seamless delivery of services.

* Support the Agency's video conferencing and audio-visual technologies, including configuration, acoustic testing, and training for end users.
* Provide support for physical network services onsite, including hardware installation and removal, patching, and break-fix troubleshooting.
* Use tools such as drills for the installation and removal of hardware, and potentially work with heavy/awkward objects like visual displays.
* Assist with asset logistics requirements, including receipt and distribution.
* Update and maintain registration of all ICT assets, including asset moves.
* Communicate effectively with key stakeholders, including senior executives.
* Implement technical change management activities.
* Investigate technical problems assigned to the team and engage others to assist in addressing such problems.
* Foster a positive culture within the ICT Services Branch, aligned with Agency values.

Selection Criteria:

1. Demonstrated experience in ICT operations roles, minimum of 3 years.
2. Experience covering technology hardware, infrastructure, and networks.
3. Solid understanding of ITIL best practice.
4. Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems.
5. High-level customer service and support skills.
6. Ability to hold or obtain Baseline clearance.
7. Previous experience working in Government or large organisations is highly advantageous.
