Role Overview
The Procurement Coordinator plays a pivotal role in leading Council's procurement and contract management function ensuring best value outcomes, legislative compliance, and continuous improvement across the organisation. Reporting to the Manager Financial Services, this position provides strategic and operational leadership to the Purchasing and Stores function while working collaboratively across Council to drive a "One Team One Council" approach. This is a hands‐on leadership role where you will influence procurement strategy, strengthen supplier relationships (including local businesses) and enhance procurement capability across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate Council's procurement and contract management activities to achieve best value outcomes
* Develop, implement and continuously improve procurement policies, procedures and frameworks
* Provide expert advice on procurement strategy, probity, and contract management across Council
* Oversee the preparation, evaluation, and negotiation of tenders, quotes and expressions of interest
* Establish and manage supplier agreements while strengthening relationships with key and local suppliers
* Drive procurement efficiency, cost savings and value‐add initiatives across Council operationsLead and develop procurement capability across the organisation through training and knowledge sharing
* Oversee contract registers, audit functions and compliance with legislative requirements
* Support high‐risk and high‐value procurement activities and contract management processes
* Analyse procurement spend and identify opportunities for strategic improvement and savings
* Promote collaboration across departments to ensure consistent and effective procurement practices
Qualifications and Experience
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in procurement, business, finance or a related discipline (or equivalent industry experience)
* Demonstrated experience in procurement and contract management ideally within Local Government or a complex organisation
* Strong understanding of procurement legislation
* Experience managing tenders, supplier negotiations and procurement frameworks
* Exposure to financial reporting and procurement analysis
* Experience using systems such as Technology One (desirable)
