The House of Voice is seeking a Piano Teacher for Term 1 and continuing
We are looking for teachers who are committed and can develop the students to become the best musician possible across all ages, levels, styles, and backgrounds.
We have a warm and friendly team who collaborate in a great modern environment.
There will be no admin required in your role it is totally related to training the students only and we take care of all scheduling and student/parent needs outside of learning.
Qualifications and training are must-have requirements:
- Bachelor of Music. completed or final year considered. Applicants who graduated from either Melbourne University/VCA (in Piano) will be highly regarded as all our teachers are from this background. However those from equivalents to these backgrounds will also be considered.
- Teachers with experience taking online piano classes (advantageous) as this on occasions is required.
- Experience teaching individual and group classes
- A Working with Children Certificate which must be up to date on commencement

- The ability to relate, teach and communicate with a large spectrum of ages in all levels from beginner to intermediate
- You must be able to teach music theory, aural and basic notation
- You must have an ability to teach performance skills for auditions, AMEB, competitions, gigs and a range of HOV performances throughout the year
- You have an ability to teach fundamentals of each individual style within piano: Classical,Jazz, Pop, Rock, Indie, Soul, R&B and Musical Theatre. It is also expected that you know the what techniques are required for each style.
- Some knowledge in either or all music software: Garageband, Ableton and Sibelius would be a bonus (although not essential)
- Would be confident to take on Piano for Singers program. Singing qualification not essential, as it is still a piano based program, but would be open to taking these classes with some in-house training
At times you will be called on to assist with ensembles and half and yearly performances.
- Some classes may be online in-between in person lessons
- You will require a Working With Children Certificate before commencing.
- Saturdays would be advantageous
If you feel that the HOV model is of interest and you can maintain a high standard of achievement and performance.

Pay: $40.00 - $55.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 - 50 per week
