Learn more about Brisbane Catholic Education.Summary Join BCE as our Contracting & Compliance Lead and play a pivotal role in shaping our supplier and contracting practices.In this senior leadership role, you will be responsible for ensuring BCE maintains strong governance, assurance, and compliance in all third-party contracting and supplier engagements.You'll help build a trusted supplier base, support procurement transformation, and ensure our contracting pathways are clear and consistent.Work hours: Full-time | Flexible working arrangements availableAd Close Date: 13 October 2025About the opportunity In this position you will:Lead the design and continuous improvement of contracting processes for suppliers, contractors, and sole traders; embed legal and commercial safeguards.Oversee due diligence, risk screening, and classification; manage onboarding processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and audit readiness.Drive selected procurement transformation initiatives with strong project governance, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.Ensure all supplier engagements meet legislative, regulatory, and organisational compliance obligations; proactively manage and mitigate risks.Translate policy into clear operational guidance and decision pathways, ensuring accountability and consistency across the organisation.Act as a trusted advisor to schools and business units, providing timely guidance and coaching on contracting and compliance matters.Monitor onboarding and contracting performance, lead improvement initiatives, and deliver reporting dashboards to inform leadership.Partner with the Capability & Governance Lead and Sourcing & Partnering Lead to mature BCE's procurement function in line with Catholic social teaching values.About you To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:Extensive senior leadership experience in contracting, compliance, and supplier assuranceDemonstrated resilience, grit, and professional credibility in navigating complex environments and delivering outcomes under pressureProven track record in third-party contracting oversight, risk management, and supplier assurance programsStrong commercial acumen and negotiation skills, with deep knowledge of probity and compliance frameworksAbility to uplift compliance culture through coaching, training, and accessible toolsExcellent stakeholder engagement and influence skills, with confidence to advise at all levelsTertiary qualifications in procurement, commerce, law, business, or public administrationPreferably CIPS-qualified, reflecting top-tier standing in the professionEligibility and Safeguarding requirements:Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointmentAbility to obtain a National Criminal History check prior to commencement.Currently Queensland Driver's LicenceWhy choose BCE Join us and be part of the largest Catholic Diocese in Queensland, nurturing your personal and professional development goals.
