The Role
As a Legal Counsel, you will provide high-quality legal advice, mentorship, and coaching to our planning and environment team. You will be responsible for leading and managing planning and environment matters on behalf of our organization, utilizing your specialist legal skills and advocacy.
Duties and Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities:
* Provide expert legal guidance and support to the planning and environment team.
* Lead and manage complex planning and environment cases, ensuring successful outcomes for our organization.
* Mentor and coach junior lawyers, promoting their professional development and growth.
Requirements
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
* Admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland, with a current Practicing Certificate from the Queensland Law Society.
* Extensive knowledge of local government and planning law, particularly in Planning and Environment Court litigation.
* Strong advocacy skills, with the ability to represent our organization in Court and lead negotiations.
