The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder is seeking a motivated and detail‐oriented Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team and support the delivery of accurate, timely and high‐quality financial information across the organisation.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager Finance, you will play a key role in the City's financial operations, including month‐end processing, reconciliations, internal controls, reporting and analysis. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem solving, is committed to accuracy, and thrives in a supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Assist with month‐end processes, general ledger maintenance, and financial reconciliations.
* Prepare management and responsible officer reports as required.
* Reconcile and analyse key financial data, including balance sheet accounts.
* Support the development and maintenance of internal control procedures.
* Provide advice and support to the finance team and internal stakeholders.
* Ensure compliance with City policies, procedures and deadlines.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

* At least 12 months experience in a finance or accounting role.
* Relevant tertiary qualifications (completed or in progress) in Accounting or Finance (desirable).
* Strong attention to detail, problem‐solving skills and accuracy.
* Well‐developed communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel (intermediate to advanced).
* Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
* A collaborative mindset with the ability to work autonomously.
* A current National Police Clearance and WA "C" Class driver's licence.
