Introduction


As part of Kolsen Group, RAM Services (RAMS) specialise in industrial services and facilities maintenance across the Oil and Gas, Marine and Infrastructure industries.

We are currently seeking an experienced trade qualified person to fill the role of Carpenter joining our Industrial Services Division, on site at a major hazard facility in Darwin. To be considered for this position you must reside locally.

An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and highly motivated person to join our team in a full-time role.

The role is to oversee our preferred subcontractors in support of our facilities maintenance contract onsite with one of our major contracts.



Description


JOB OVERVIEW:

Installs, maintains, repairs and responsible for the provision of first and second fix services as per the instructions and schedules specified by the Manager or the positions immediate operational manager and other systems for compliance with local and national regulations.

SAFETY, HEALTH AND

ENVIRONMENT



Ensure workforce fully understand and comply with the Kolsen QHSE requirements and relevant policies.

Be proactive in identifying hazards, developing safety procedures, and encouraging continuous improvement in relation to HSE.

Ensure that all work is performed by and supervised by holders of work licence appropriate to the work.

Assist in identifying hazards, advising on safety procedures, and monitoring work practices to ensure adherence to correct procedures and standards for safety and environmental performance. Support the Kolsen Group corporate quality, safety, health, and environmental management systems by:

1. Reporting to your Manager or QHSE Manager any situation that could result in harm to a person, the environment or may adversely affect the services we provide our customers.
2. Report to your Manager or QHSE Manager any opportunities that you believe would improve the quality of service we provide our customers or could reduce the potential for harm to people or the environment.
3. Understand and support the annual QHSE objectives.

To immediately pause or make safe any work condition or activity that could result in immediate harm and immediately notify either by phone or in person the responsible line manager and the QHSE adviser or Director.

Leading and promoting the implementation of the integrated management systems for Quality, Safety, Health and the Environment.



Operational Performance



4. Prepare drawings for cabinetry, framing and other construction projects on-site
5. Interpret client requests and provide mock-ups for clients to approve prior to commencing work
6. Build cabinets, vanities, tub and shower surrounds and other projects based on demand
7. Frame room additions as needed for client
8. Select and evaluate materials for defects
9. Install cabinets, counters and moulding
10. Follow all code requirements for kitchens and baths in remodelling projects
11. First and second fix, joinery, construction and maintenance work.
12. Operate equipment and machinery in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations and the Sterling NT operating procedures.
13. Work independently
14. Manage site specific systems and assist operational management
15. High attention to detail
16. Report maintenance and repair issues to site supervisor.

OTHER



Undertake other tasks to support the project or business operations as required. Adhere to the Direction, Competence, Opportunity, and Motivation (D-COM) principles.



Skills And Experiences


SELECTION CRITERIA:

ESSENTIALS:

18. Proven ability to carry out the tasks outlined in the key responsibilites.
19. Ability to communicate.
20. Class C Driver's Licence (manual).
21. Ability to work without supervision and as a team member.
22. Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols.
23. A positive NT Police Security Check Report.
24. Construction White Card.
25. 2 years + experience as a qualified tradesperson
26. 1+ years' experience in finish carpentry
27. Extensive knowledge of power tools, including skill saw, mitre saw and jigsaw
28. Willingness to work overtime when necessary to deliver the project on time
29. Capable of climbing on ladders and carrying at least 20+ kg
30. Knowledge of timber grades and countertop materials

DESIRABLE:

31. Certificate II or equivalent in building & construction
32. 1+ years' experience in rough carpentry
33. Possession of basic hand tools and reliable transportation to job sites
