About The Role
CPBS is seeking a part-time Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our growing and dedicated team in Alice Springs. In this role, you will report to the Head of Regional Services for Queensland and the Northern Territory, working closely with an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner in Alice Springs. Your responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing behavioural support plans and programs, assisting with plan implementation, and supervising other practitioners. The work is based on the principles of Multi-Element Behaviour Support (MEBS) and Positive Behaviour Support for children and adults across home, community, and workplace settings.
What You'll Do
* Make positive and meaningful changes in the lives of others by developing and maintaining relationships
* Provide direct behavioural interventions in individual and group sessions
* Develop Functional Behavioural Assessments and Behaviour Analysis Support Plans
* Support and train colleagues, caregivers, and support workers on clinical techniques
* Collaborate with professionals such as doctors, psychiatrists, speech therapists, and occupational therapists to develop and implement individualised goals
* Ensure compliance with legislative requirements regarding timely and accurate report writing and documentation
* Complete introductory IABA training in Non-Linear Multi-element Positive Behaviour Support
Skills and Experiences
* A bachelor's degree and/or postgraduate qualifications related to Positive Behaviour Support
* Hold or be able to obtain an NDIS Practitioner ID, NDIS Workers Screening Check, and Working with Children Check
* Proven experience as a Behaviour Support Practitioner, Behaviour Analyst, or Behaviour Therapist
* Ability to prepare and finalise technical reports promptly, with strong verbal and written communication skills
* Effective time management skills to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
* Hold a valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle
* Willingness to make a significant difference in the lives of the people and families we support
