Responsibilities
The Financial Accounting Officer plays a key role in supporting Council's financial operations by managing investment and trust registers, assisting with cash flow management, and ensuring accurate revenue processing. The role works closely with the Accounts Receivable Team Leader to maintain compliance with legislation, policies and accounting standards, while providing high‐quality financial reporting, reconciliation, and customer service across internal and external stakeholders.
* Maintaining and reconciling Council's investment and trust registers, including monthly interest calculations and reporting
* Assisting with cash flow forecasting and investing surplus funds in line with legislation and Council policy
* Supporting accounts receivable functions, including invoicing, receipting, trust fund recoupments and GST treatment
* Monitoring overdue debts and supporting debt recovery activities, reconciliations and reporting
* Providing financial support to the Revenue Accounting team and contributing to accurate, compliant financial records
What You'll Bring
To thrive in this role, you will need:
* Bachelor of Accounting or a related discipline
* Sound organisational / time management skills
* Effective written and oral communication skills
* High level knowledge and experience in the use of PC‐based office application software, especially Microsoft applications including Word and Excel
* Knowledge of Accounting Standards and Legislation relevant to the position

Salary
Offers an attractive annual salary ranging from $80,529 to $93,588.
