The Opportunity
We are currently looking for a Claims Officer to join the team in the Liability and Construction / Material Works space. This role is pivotal to the team's success, proactively supporting our claims philosophy and strategy, managing end to end material damage in construction works, personal injury and public liability claims and acting within legislative requirements to support the unit in achieving its targeted objectives.

Your New Role
* Efficiently manage the claims process, ensuring accurate completion and validation of all claims.
* Interpret policy coverage to determine applicability, escalating complex or uncertain matters when required.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with insured clients, brokers, investigators, solicitors, and the broader public.
* Ensure adherence to all relevant statutory guidelines, regulatory requirements, and internal standards.
* Initiate and finalise recoveries from third parties where applicable.
* Conduct self‑audits of claim files and respond to enquiries promptly, accurately, professionally, and in line with Privacy guidelines.
About You
* Strong technical capability to manage a diverse portfolio of bodily injury, property damage (including construction and material works), and product liability claims
* Liability, Property or Construction claims experience desired;
* Solid understanding of underwriting procedures across a diversified liability portfolio, with proven ability to interpret and apply relevant policy wordings.
* Skilled in engaging, instructing, and collaborating with external providers such as loss adjusters, lawyers, and consultants.
* Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of the General Insurance Code of Practice, with legal qualifications considered advantageous but not essential.
* Proven ability to build and maintain strong client and customer relationships while applying sound problem‑solving skills to interpret technical and investigation reports for effective decision‑making.
* Ability to participate in alternative dispute resolution processes.
