Duties of Cook
• Cooks prepare, season and cook food in the kitchen.
• Preparing and cooking food, seasoning and portioning dishes as per the Menu of the Hemani Mehmi Indian Restaurant.
• Preparing ingredients as per the Chef instructions and requirement on a daily basis
• Examining food to ensure quality.
• Seasoning food during cooking.
• Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes.
• Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities to ensure ingredients are stored appropriately
• Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements as per customer request
• Will be required to assist the chef with menus and estimate food requirements.
• Will be required to train any junior staff and monitor the kitchen hand as required.
Key Skills and Attributes:
• Relevant qualifications with minimum 2 years professional working experience as a Cook in fast paced Indian Restaurant.
• Holds a trade qualification of Certificate III in Cookery or higher.
• Ability to focus in a pressured setting and manage the team effectively.
Position: Cook
Salary: $75,000 to $80,000 a year plus Superannuation
