The role sits within Revenue NSW. We are the state's principal revenue management agency and are a part of the Department of Customer Service (DCS). We manage taxes, fines, debts and administer grants in a fair, efficient and timely manner. Through this we give back to the community and fund essential State services for the people of NSW.
We are seeking an Operations Support Officer to join the Duties Services team – Taxes & Grants branch of Revenue NSW. The primary purpose of this role is carrying out duties assessments, prepare correspondence and manage customer enquiries.
About the role
As the Assistant Operations Officer you will:
* Provide quality customer service by interpreting state tax legislation and providing legislative and procedural advise to customers
* Maintain comprehensive and up to date knowledge of legislation, policies, procedures and business rules
* Manage and prioritise your workflow to meet the time sensitive needs of property professionals
* Possess good communication skills to negotiate successful outcomes with customers
About You
To be successful in this position you will:
* Manage and prioritise responsibilities in a high-volume work environment with the ability to meet business outcomes and performance targets
* Require good interpersonal skills demonstrated through client contact, negotiation, and communications with public and legal professionals alike
* Have a flexible approach to work and the ability to work collaboratively and possess a willingness to learn
* Apply your analytical and problem-solving skills to determine eligibility for exemptions, concessions and refunds of duty
