The Nurse Manager – Nursing and Midwifery Executive Officer (NEO) is responsible to the Director of Nursing and Midwifery Services (DoNM) to coordinate administrative and project support, aimed at improving the operational efficiency, performance effectiveness and quality of nursing and midwifery services. This is a high paced role, challenged to meet competing needs and expectations, and requires excellent time management skills, the ability to prioritise demands across a diverse range of issues whilst developing constructive and effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to make sustained changes and improvements to patient and staff safety.
The role will assist in the implementation of key nursing and midwifery strategic initiatives, provide guidance and support to ensure that there is a focus on service development and appropriate oversight of practices, trends and indicators.

The ideal candidate will have:
* Current unrestricted Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Relevant post graduate qualifications and/or work experience with a demonstrated commitment to professional development.
* Recent broad senior nursing/midwifery operational experience and leading staff in a relevant setting.
* Demonstrate the ability to communicate, negotiate and liaise with key internal and external stakeholders to manage key priorities and deliver successful projects and initiatives within resources and deadlines.
* Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, build relationships and act as a resource person, role model, mentor /coach and use a high level of critical thinking whilst exercising initiative and sound judgement in challenging situations.
* Demonstrated ability to manage change and guide others through the change management process to deliver on nursing and midwifery strategies.
* Demonstrated high level communication skills with the ability to prepare reports, documentation and presentations in a timely and professional manner using relevant information technology platforms.
