First Door is growing and we're looking for an inspiring and supportiveMentor/Trainer and Assessor, based in the Ipswich area. This is your opportunity to join our team and support First Door students' purpose, capability and success. Your area for regular service visits ranges from Forest Lake, Ipswich to Withcott/Toowoomba, with a mileage allowance is provided.

* This part time role will commence 26th January 2026, starting on 22 hours per week. Your student numbers and employment hours are expected to increase to full time, reflecting your excellent student support and relationship management.

Role purpose

The Early Childhood mentor and assessor role is to provide a positive and helpful professional learning student experience that supports our Early Childhood students' successful onboarding and course progress. This role requires emotional intelligence and excellent communication in your: response and follow up to student enquiries, student mentoring and assessment to create a successful learning experience.

Along with everyone in our team, this role operates according to First Door's team charter, code of conduct, and policies to support the business objectives of First Door to achieve its vision.

ECEC Mentor & Assessor key responsibilities:

To work both autonomously and collaboratively to accurately and effectively:

* Onboard your new Early Childhood students and their service director, following the enrolment process.
* Mentor your growing group of south side students, including service visits in assigned area and provide study support by phone, online meetings and email.
* Assess Early Childhood students practical skills and knowledge in practice in mentoring meetings.
* Assess and provide feedback on their online assessment using our student portal
* Contribution to continuous improvement of First Door, in projects and at team meetings.
* Support growth of First Door, using personal strengths by actively seeking opportunities to promote First Door and collaborate on projects with the Company Director to support the growth of First Door services.
* The option to facilitate strength-related services/projects, e.g., being a Practice Coach at services that have purchased our Team Learning packages and want additional support to implement into team practice, or facilitate services, such as Educational Leader Mentorship.

Knowledge/experience required:- Experienced educator, Educational Leader, or Early Childhood Teacher in leading quality improvement in an Early Childhood Education and Care service/s

* Experienced mentor and coach, in supporting educators' professional growth and skill development

* Experience successfully communicating with educators/Early Childhood students, service leaders and external stakeholders

* Experienced advocate for quality Early Childhood Education and Care, with positive reputation in the Early Childhood profession

* Student administration experience with technology competence, e.g. using MSTeams, Excel and student management software

* Knowledge of the training and assessment compliance requirements in ASQA's Standards for RTOs 2025

* Experience and demonstrated competence as an early childhood trainer and assessor preferred.

Qualifications required:

* Australian work authorisation is required for this position.

* TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (Release 4) and required additional units, or TAE401 l 6, or its successor.

* Completion of CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care qualification or higher, and/or relevant and current experience in Early Childhood Education and Care with superseded CHC50113 Diploma of ECEC qualification.
* Currency with evidence of professional readings and learning, relating to current sector research and trends.
