**About the Company**
Our large NSW State Government client functions to reduce violence, crime and fear throughout the NSW Community.

**About the Role**
They are currently seeking multiple Payroll Officers with extensive SAP and spinifex system experience to join their high performing team in Parramatta, with the opportunity to currently work from home. This is an estimated 3-month temporary assignment, with a strong potential to extend.

Reporting the to Manager, Governance & Compliance, you will be required to support your team in processing high volume payroll transactional services in SAP for over 23,000 employees along with generating reports whilst ensuring compliance with best practice and legislative requirements

Your duties will include, however, will not be limited to
- Deliver professional customer service
- Answer enquiries within a timely and accurate manner
- High volume processing of fortnightly payroll, governance and compliance related functions
- Maintain up to date knowledge and interpretation of employment conditions, entitlements, legislation, awards, policies and procedures
- Ensure accurateness of accounts, reconciliations, balancing of taxation and superannuation
- Undertake reconciliation of general ledger salary accounts ensuring they balance, handling errors for accurate clearance of suspense accounts
- Process superannuation and salary sacrifice administration requirements
- Assist with the management of overpayments including issuing of letters to affected employees, entering deductions and liaising with employees accordingly
- Generate detailed routine reports to management
- Records and database management ensuring high integrity, accuracy and confidentiality
- Provide consultation and support to employees eligible for seeking income protection benefits and complete associated claims management process
- Monitor the compliance of claims against legislative requirements, supporting employees recovery and timely return to the workplace
- Establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships, facilitating engagement, partnerships, collaboration and contribution of ideas
- Provide advice to Management informing of income protection claim determinations along with other legal matters to ensure they are addressed and managed appropriately
- Contribute to continuous improvement strategies
- Ensure compliance with best practice and legislative requirements

**About You**
To secure this great assignment you must have the following
- Demonstrated Payroll, Accounting, Finance experience or in an equivalent field
- Thorough understanding of Payroll and Taxation principles
- Extensive experience in a highly transactional payroll related environment
- Public Sector experience highly advantageous
- Thorough understanding of the Police Blue Ribbon Insurance (PBRI) Scheme
- Previous Case management experience preferred
- Impeccable communication skills, both verbal and written
- Professional, resilient and empathetic manner
- Superior organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise conflicting deadlines
- Solid analytical, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
- Strong computer literacy and proficiency with MS office suite, SAP & Spinifex essential
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Valid Baseline security clearances & willingness to undergo pre-employment checks
- Ability to commence and commit to the duration of the assignment
